If you like fleece with character, health and
vitality you will love Legend. What else do you expect from Accoyo
class! Yes, Legend is from the most famous breeding program in the
world, Don Julio BARREDA’S Accoyo. His fleece exhibits high
lustre, silky soft handle and a deep bold crimp. The fleece judge
at the National Show in the U.S. liked it; Australian fleece expert,
Cameron Holt, put it first two years running against all the other
Peruvian competitors. The next year one of his progeny, Lexicon,
was successful in the US National fleece show.
Jude was able to select Legend in Peru in 1995 in the Peruvian Five
Star import into the U.S. Since his stay at North West Alpacas in
Oregon, ranch owner Mike Safley, is over the moon with the quality
of Legend offspring, many of which made up Mike's show team. This
outstanding thirteen year old Accoyo male could make your progeny
show winners in AUSTRALIA too!
Just take Chiquita Chantilly as an example. Surpreme Champion
of the Hamilton Sheep Vention judged by Australia's most knowledgeable
alpaca breeder, Roger Haldane. At 18 months of age she WAS 16
micron!!! Legend was also the sire of the Senior Female Champion
at the 2000 Australian National Show at Tatura in Victoria. Look
below to see how Legend genetics up until March 2003 have won
139 show ribbons, including eight Supremes!!!!
